Getting something fixed in a new country is harder than it should be. You need the right word for the trade, a company that takes on small jobs, and someone you can actually talk to. With us you deal with one person, in English, from the first message until the job is done.
Handyman services in and around the home
A handyman takes on the work that falls between the trades. A hole in a plasterboard wall needs a little carpentry, a little plastering and a little painting. It is too small for three specialists, and one person who can do all three finishes it in a single visit.
You can save up several jobs and have them done in one go. Send us a list with a few photos and we can estimate the time and materials.

Carpentry
Hanging and trimming doors, fixing doors and windows that stick, fitting skirting boards, securing a creaking floor or building a partition wall.
Walls and ceilings
Repairing holes and cracks, patching damaged plaster, removing wallpaper and getting walls ready for paint.
Painting
Painting a room, doors and window frames, or touching up the woodwork outside.
Tiles, sealant and bathroom fixtures
Replacing loose or cracked tiles, renewing grout and sealant, fixing a dripping tap or a running toilet and replacing a tap, toilet or basin.
Assembly and mounting
Assembling furniture and wardrobes and fixing them to the wall, mounting a TV, curtain rails, shelves and lamps. We use the right fixing for the wall, whether it is plasterboard, brick or concrete.
Renting or owning in Rotterdam
Many people in Rotterdam rent, or own an apartment in a building with an owners' association (VvE). That decides who may have which job done.
As a tenant you can hire us for what you are allowed to change yourself, and for putting things right before you hand the keys back at the end of the tenancy. Repairs to the building itself are usually the landlord's responsibility, so check your rental contract first.
As an owner in an apartment building, work on the roof, the facade, the shared staircase and shared pipes goes through the VvE. Everything inside your own front door you can normally arrange yourself.
From a small job to a renovation
Sometimes a small job uncovers a bigger one. A damp patch turns out to be a leak, or the plaster behind the wallpaper is loose. You do not have to look for another company. We are also a contractor, so we tell you what we found and quote for the larger work, up to a full renovation, a new bathroom or a kitchen.

What determines the price
The price of a job depends on these points.
- The time the job takes, and whether several jobs fit in one visit
- The materials needed, and whether you already have them
- Whether we need to come and look first, or a photo is enough
- How easy the property is to reach and to park at
- Whether waste has to be taken away
How it works
Send us a message with a short description and a few photos. For a small job that is often enough to tell you what is needed and what it costs. If it is less clear, we come and have a look first.
Once you agree, we set a date. When the work is finished we go through it with you and take the waste with us.
